The lock-and-key hardware binding model

Software cannot be separated from its authorized device. Even if the entire storage medium is cloned, the absence of the correct physical TPM or secure element identity prevents the software from executing.

Authorized device

The hardware identity is confirmed at boot, the chain of trust is intact, and full functionality is available, entirely offline.

Cloned copy

The drive was copied but the hardware identity does not match at verification, so the software refuses to run.
